In short
Teams of five plus one optional registered substitute, who may only play one of the team’s five submitted lists with the Head Judge’s approval.
2,000 points, 11th edition. Rules, points and FAQs published on warhammer-community.com by 23:59 on Thursday 22 October are in force; anything later is not.
Scoring follows the Warhammer Teams Event Companion (22 July 2026 version): 20 battle points per game, 100 per team per round. A team wins the round with a differential of 6 BP or more (53–47 is a win; 52–48 is a draw).
Round 1 pairings are random. Later rounds follow the Companion. Rankings are record, then individual wins, then total BP. An individual win is 11 BP or more; a 10–10 game is a draw regardless of VP.
Chess clocks are mandatory. Bring your own; clocks are never paused.
Lists
Submit on BCP as a direct export from the Warhammer 40,000 app with no formatting changes. Leaders must be attached and the Force Disposition selected in the export, or the list is an illegal submission. Lists lock at 23:59 on Sunday 25 October and are released to all teams on Wednesday 28 October.
The app is a list-building convenience only. Where it conflicts with the Munitorum Field Manual or a Faction Pack, the printed rules win, and captains are responsible for checking their team’s lists.

What to bring
Your army and a copy of your list, a chess clock, readable dice, tape measure, objective markers and tokens, your rules (Faction Pack, MFM, Force Disposition and Secondary Mission cards), and your convention ticket and ID.
The pack above is the authoritative document. Questions before the event go through the Dubai 40k WhatsApp community.
Rulings and FAQ for this event
General questions are on the FAQ page. These apply to Tabletop.ME 40k Teams Tournament specifically.
Each player scores 10 VP per game for a Battle Ready army. For this event, Battle Ready means:
a minimum of three colours, with all major details painted;
no visible primer, unless it has been washed or highlighted;
textured bases, with no bare plastic on the top of the base. A painted-only base does not count.
WYSIWYG is not mandatory, but if your opponent is confused about a unit’s loadout because special weapons aren’t modelled or marked, the ruling goes in their favour. Mark your models or say so clearly before the game.
Yes, if they are approved before the event. Anything that isn’t a standard Games Workshop model for the unit it represents is a proxy: 3D prints, alternative manufacturers, kitbashes and conversions.
Post clear photos in the WhatsApp community by Wednesday 4 November. A proxy is approved if no captain objects by the deadline; the Head Judge decides any dispute. Proxies must be a similar size and footprint to the original model. Unapproved proxies do not score Battle Ready and may be removed from the table.
Penalties escalate: official warning → yellow card → red card. Cards can be issued to a player or a team and are deducted from the team’s round score (out of 100):
Penalty
Effect
Official warning
No points penalty. Recorded.
Yellow card
−15 BP from the team’s round score
Red card
−25 BP from the team’s round score
A second yellow for the same or a similar offence becomes a red. The Head Judge may go straight to any card for a serious offence, and may remove a player for blatant cheating or violence. A penalty can change the offending team’s result but never turns a loss into a win for the other team.
You do. Once pairings are done, players set up their own table to the chosen layout, including terrain footprints, and check it with their opponent before starting. At the end of each round, clear your table: terrain pieces and footprints stacked neatly to the side, nothing missing.
