The World Team Championship is the annual national-teams tournament for Warhammer 40,000, widely seen as the most prestigious 40k event in the world. Teams of eight players compete over three days, preceded by a three-day singles event, Warmasters. Each round, captains pair their players against the opposing team, so team composition, list design and pairing strategy matter as much as individual play. WTC 2026 was held in Mechelen, Belgium; the 2027 host and dates will be announced once the captains' vote concludes.
Team GCC represents the Warhammer 40,000 community of the Gulf Cooperation Council states and took a squad of eight to the WTC for the first time in August 2026. To be eligible for the playing squad you must be resident in a GCC country or hold a GCC passport, be an active player of the current edition, and meet the WTC's own eligibility rules.
For WTC 2027 the captain is Nils Bouillard, with Kasper Wennerby and Matt Ed as vice captains. Terry Mo holds the community seat on the selection committee.

How selection works, in brief
We bring a team, not our eight best players. Involvement is expected and is a selection criterion.
Sportsmanship and conduct. Poor behaviour is disqualifying regardless of results.
Team involvement and collaboration. Active on the Discord, sharing lists, scrimming with and coaching teammates, building your list to the team plan.
High-level play, including on Tabletop Simulator. Regular tracked TTS games against international squad-level opponents are a minimum requirement, not a bonus.
Results and fit. BCP results weighted by strength of field, and how you fit the eight as a set: faction coverage, dispositions and pairings.
Places are confirmed progressively through the season, so players who improve during the year have a route in. Coaches apply through the same form. Apply even if you think you won't make it; the extended squad is the point of entry and everyone gets feedback.
